Brainbombs

Brainbombs are a Swedish garage punk, garage rock and noise rock group from Hudiksvall, active since around 1986. The band line-up includes Dan Råberg, Peter Råberg, Jonas Tiljander, Drajan Bryngelsson and Lanchy Orre. Drajan Bryngelsson and Lanchy Orre also play in the punk band Totalitär, and Drajan Bryngelsson and Dan Råberg later form No Balls.

Style and lyrics

The group is known for abrasive noise rock and for highly explicit lyrics dealing with rape, murder and child molestation. Their work is often associated with limited releases and small tours, but they remain active over a long period.

Releases

In 1986 Brainbombs appear on the underground compilations Unveiled on Mechanik Cassettes and In the Shadow of Death on Cold Meat Industries. They then release their first single, Jack the Ripper Lover. Between 1986 and 1992 they issue several more singles and compilation appearances before their first full-length album, Burning Hell, on Big Ball Records.

During the 1990s they release Obey, Genius and Brutality - Taste and Power and Urge to Kill, along with more singles and EPs. In the 2000s they continue to release singles and later issue another full-length album, Fucking Mess. Their 2010s albums include Disposal Of A Dead Body, Souvenirs and Inferno; the latter two include more psychedelic influences than earlier records.
