Boca 45

Boca 45 is the performance name of Scott Hendy, a DJ and producer from the United Kingdom, based in Bristol. The name comes from Boca Juniors, the Argentine football team, and from the term used for a 7-inch single. Boca 45 works in funk, electrofunk, breaks, abstract hip hop and jazz-funk-breaks.

Recordings and labels

Since 2004, Boca 45 has been signed to Grand Central Records. Before that, Hendy releases music on Hombré Recordings, Illicit Records, Superslick Stereo Sounds and High Noon Records. His debut album is Pitch Sounds. After that, he records two DJ mix albums for Ninja Tune; both contain 45 tracks and use material taken entirely from 7-inch singles.

Collaborations and live work

Boca 45 also records with DJ Andy Smith of Portishead under the name Dynamo Productions. The pair release one album, Analogue. In 2006, Hendy begins touring with a live band called The Boca45 Experience, which features former members of The Federation, Stepchild and Kelvin Swaby.
