Blackwax

Blackwax are a UK grime and electronic duo from the United Kingdom, made up of Luke Dubuis and Ross Addy. Their work draws on the UK’s underground electronic music history, alongside influences from further afield, and their sound sits within a dark, rugged style of club music.

The duo’s productions take in elements associated with jungle, grime and UK funky, while keeping a consistent sonic identity. Their approach combines rhythmic detail with strong dancefloor pressure, and their tracks are described as part of a wider tradition of experimental underground music.

Among their better-known productions are “Surface” and “Off Key”, both of which receive support in DJs’ sets from contemporaries including Visionist and Dark Sky.
