Ben Gold

Ben Gold is a UK-born DJ and producer based in the Netherlands. He works in trance, uplifting trance, progressive trance, melodic trance and electronic music, and he is also associated with tech trance. He is part of FUTURECODE and records on #Goldrush Recordings.

Career

Ben Gold builds his career around both DJ performance and studio work. He also works as a studio engineer, and his weekday work includes engineering for Judge Jules, as well as producing remixes and mashups for house music labels including DATA and Hit! Records. As a DJ, he plays at clubs such as The Gallery at Turnmills, Peach at Heaven, Honey Club in Brighton and Passion in Coalville.

He starts DJing at the Camden Palace when he is 18 and develops a style built around energetic mixing, looping, scratching and re-editing tracks live. His performances are associated with the club culture around Peach in London, which has helped launch figures including Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren and Tiësto.

Production and releases

As a producer, Gold’s tracks appear on compilations including Trance Nation Harder and Deeper. His work also receives support from radio and specialist shows such as Radio 1, Galaxy, A State of Trance and Trance Around the World. His productions are played by DJs including Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn, Paul van Dyk and Marco V.

He receives praise from Paul Oakenfold, who describes him as a talented young producer to watch. One of his notable collaborations is Frontline, which produces the double A-side releases Global System and Surface to Air. Those tracks gain significant radio play and support from Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Eddie Halliwell.

His remix of Primer’s Everlast becomes one of the most sought-after remixes of its year, with support from Armin van Buuren, Judge Jules and Above and Beyond. He also remixes Mekka’s Diamondback, which leads to a signing with Perfecto Records.
