Beauty and the Beat are a back-to-back DJ team, music producers and remixers who also work as a married couple. The act is made up of Sally Doolally and Goetzlich, who also perform as individual artists.

Background

Sally has been DJing professionally since 1998 and has toured internationally. Goetz has been DJing for over 15 years and producing music for almost as long. He also works as a media designer, specialising in Flash and animation. Both artists are involved in event production, and Sally also works in stage management and artist booking.

Releases and remixes

Beauty and the Beat release a mixed CD in 2005 on Universal Music called Wonderland - The Festival Compilation, which is a double compilation mixed by the duo. A follow-up to that series appears in 2007 on European Dance Recordings. In 2006 they work in the studio with their friend Nuke and win the Vibrasphere remix competition for Floating Free, selected from more than 400 entries. That remix becomes their debut 12-inch release in 2007 on Tribal Vision Records. The Beauty and the Beat featuring Nuke collaboration later releases music on SOG, Iboga, Echoes and Blue Tunes, along with further remixes for Tribal Vision.

Label work

Sally is the label director and label DJ for Plastik Park Records, the sub-label of Sprout Music associated with D-Nox. She represents both Sprout and Plastik Park in her DJ sets, and Beauty and the Beat also serve as label DJs for Plastik Park Records.

Performance history and style

The duo play at international festivals including Fusion in Germany, Rainbow Serpent in Australia and Soulclipse in Turkey, as well as clubs in Melbourne, Bali, Lisbon, Vienna, Zurich, Copenhagen and Berlin. Their record collection spans progressive, tech-house, techno, groovy-electro, phat-breaks and neo-trance.

Other activity

Goetz is a resident DJ on two German party crews and has a long history of organising his own parties and working in event production alongside Sally.
