Bears Den

Bears Den are a London-based British folk and indie folk group formed in 2012. The band’s core members are Andrew Davie, Joey Haynes and Kevin Jones. Davie handles lead vocals, electric guitar and acoustic guitar, while Haynes contributes vocals, banjo and guitar, and Jones performs vocals, drums, bass and guitar.

Haynes leaves the band in early 2016 after the release of the debut album, and Christof van der Ven takes his place in the studio and on tour from 2016, although not as an official member. Jones leaves in March 2025, leaving Davie as the only full member of the group.

Albums and EPs

The band releases four studio albums: Islands, Red Earth & Pouring Rain, So that you might hear me and Blue Hours. Islands reaches number 49 on the UK Albums Chart. Their EPs are Agape, Without/Within, Only Son of the Falling Snow, Christmas, Hopefully, The Quiet Winter Light and First Loves.

Awards and nominations

“Above the Clouds of Pompeii” earns a nomination for the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically in 2015. The band also receives two nominations at the UK Americana Awards in 2016, for Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for “Agape”.
