Bassheads

Bassheads are a UK dance and electronica group associated with house, techno, acid house and rave. The group is made up of Desa Basshead, and the act originates from Birkenhead, Merseyside in England. It is a production outfit known for its early 1990s club-oriented releases on Deconstruction Records.

Career

In 1991, Bassheads sign to Deconstruction Records and gain wider recognition through their first release for the label, “Is There Anybody Out There”. The track reaches the UK Top 20 singles chart and establishes the group as a charting dance act.

Their debut album, C.O.D.E.S., follows with a series of consecutive Top 40 singles, including “Back To The Old School”, “Who Can Make Me Feel Good” and “Start A Brand New Life (Save Me)”. These releases place the group firmly within the UK dance chart scene of the period.

After a quieter period, Bassheads return in 1995 through the re-release of Deconstruction Classics, which includes the HARDFLOOR remix of “Is There Anybody Out There”. That version again reaches the UK Top 30 singles chart.

The group later reappears with “How Was It For You” in 2008.
