Barbarossa is the recording name of James Mathé, a singer-songwriter from London, United Kingdom. He works under this alias in folk, indie and electronic music.

Career

Barbarossa first comes to attention in 2004 with a three-track EP made with ADEM, who is associated with Domino Records, and released through Fence Records. He later issues a mini-album titled Sea Like Blood as part of Fence Records’ Picket Fence series. In 2008 he releases Chemical Campfires, followed in 2013 by Bloodlines on Memphis Industries.
