Banks Arcade

Banks Arcade is a metalcore group from Auckland. The group consists of vocalist Joshua O’Donnell and drummer James Feekes, and the bio also names bassist Harlan Allen-Jones. The band gains attention through cover versions of songs including Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” and SAINt JHN’s “Roses”, which point to a sound that draws on hip-hop, pop, metalcore and electronic music.

Releases and style

Their debut EP, Endnote, is released in 2018. Their debut album, Future Lovers, follows in 2022 and contains 13 tracks. The album reflects a wide range of influences, including Northlane, The Prodigy and SAINt JHN, and combines hard rock, electro and metalcore elements.

Label and later activity

Banks Arcade sign with UNFD around the release of the single “Don’t Start”. The song presents the group’s self-assured approach and is described as addressing people who criticise others in private while encouraging confidence and resilience. The band tours in the United States and Canada in 2023.
