Babyboom is a London dancehall artist.

The name also appears as an acoustic side project connected with Sonic Boom Six, using additional organ and trumpet players. In that form, the music combines acoustic, ska, folk and reggae elements. The songwriting is led mainly by guitarist Ben, and the lyrics are less overtly political than in Sonic Boom Six.

Two Babyboom tracks appear on the Sonic Boom Six compilation Champion Edition on Moon Ska Europe. The group also releases a four-track EP independently, with Matthew Reynolds of Howards Alias and Thinkpol appearing on half of those songs. The project keeps some of the same features associated with Sonic Boom Six, including Laila’s high-pitched vocals and Barney’s distinctive MC style, while Ben takes most of the lead vocals.
