Background and interests
Aviva grows up in a musical family. She has a strong interest in stories and imagined worlds, and she develops her creative work through writing and music. She says she is drawn to an outsider’s perspective and aims to help people feel stronger in their identity and more able to be themselves. She also says she is the “quirky” child at school, which is where she first feels like an outsider herself.
Education and early musical training
She starts violin lessons at the age of four, then studies piano, classical vocal training and guitar, which she teaches herself. She attends Mercy College in Chatswood, New South Wales, and later studies theatre and secondary education at the University of Notre Dame Australia.
Writing and recorded work
Alongside music, Aviva writes fiction. Her debut novel, SELF/LESS, is released in 2021, and its sequel, RELENTLESS, follows. Her work in both music and writing explores themes including control and isolation.
Live work and collaborations
She tours with artists including Poppy and YUNGBLUD. She also appears on festival line-ups including MADCOOL in Madrid and Riot Fest in Chicago.
