Arushi Jain

Arushi Jain is an India-born DJ, producer, vocalist, engineer and modular synthesist based in New York. She works under the name Arushi Jain and was formerly known as Ose and Ose | ओस. Her work sits within ambient, Hindustani classical and Indian classical music, and she is also associated with electronic, drone and progressive electronic sounds.

Releases and profile

Jain releases music under her own name and has also used the alias modularprincess. She combines vocal performance with synthesis and production, and her practice includes engineering and modular synthesis. Her album Under The Lilac Sky appears in 2021 and receives recognition from Pitchfork and The Guardian, including being described as Experimental Album of the Year and Global Album of the Month. Her 2024 album Delight also receives year-end and month-end recognition from Pitchfork, The Fader and The Guardian.

Radio and label work

She runs Ghunghru, a radio series and label based in New York and New Delhi.

Live work and collaborations

Jain tours with Oneohtrix Point Never and Glass Beams. She also performs at festivals and events including Roskilde, Glastonbury, Draaimolen, Dekmantel and Sustain Release.
