Art Of Tones

Art Of Tones is the house and disco-focused project of French producer Ludovic Llorca. It begins as a side project in 2006 and develops into his best-known moniker, with a sound described as more edgy and electronic than his other work. The project is associated with house, disco, tech-house and deep-techno, and is linked to the French scene through Llorca’s work across a wide range of labels.

Early releases and recognition

Art Of Tones first appears with a series of EPs on the UK label 2020 Vision. Tracks such as “Praise” and “Call The Shots” receive positive attention from DJs and are licensed to compilations including Xpress 2’s Coast to Coast for NRK, François K’s Masterpieces for Ministry of Sound, and the Renaissance Masters series. After additional EPs on Room With A View, “Too Much” is listed among Resident Advisor’s most played tracks of 2011.

Labels and collaborations

Llorca later works closely with Fred Everything’s Lazy Days label and Local Talk Records, releasing a run of EPs there. “The Rainbow Song” becomes one of the project’s major house tracks, appearing widely in playlists and charts and becoming one of Local Talk Records’ best-selling releases. Art Of Tones Collection serves as a summary of his work for Lazy Days.

His catalogue also includes EPs and remixes on labels such as We Play House, DFTD, Toytonics, Monoside, Papa Records, Wonderwheel, Shadeleaf, House Of Disco and Glitterbox. He continues to remix for labels including Toytonics, Jalapeno, MoodFunk, AtJazz Record Company and Dirtcrew, and for artists including Izo Fitzroy, Da Lata, Sebb Junior, Flevans, S3A, Kapote and Reel People.

Album

In 2018, Art Of Tones releases his first album, Unbalanced. This follows a long sequence of EPs and remixes that establish the project as a regular presence in house music.
