Armchair Committee

Armchair Committee is a rock band from Bristol in the United Kingdom, active since 2011. The group forms in mid-2011 and works in raw, loud alternative rock.

Career

After a run of home demos, the band begins playing live in earnest in the year after it forms. It builds a touring and gigging reputation by sharing bills with artists including Jim Jones Review, Vessels, Tubelord, Gauntlet Hair, Crazy Arm, Marcus Bonfanti, Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun and Wreckless Eric. It also plays summer festivals including Worcester Music Festival, Hullabaloo Festival and Brisfest.

Recordings

The band releases its debut studio EP, Imola, in 2013. Before that, it issues home demos, including the well-received Toybox Sessions demos. These recordings attract the interest of producer Ian Davenport, who has worked with Band of Skulls, Duke Spirit and Nine Black Alps. Armchair Committee records Imola at Courtyard Studios with Davenport in late 2012.

Reception

The group gathers attention from the music press and is described by BBC Introducing as an outstanding live band and one to watch.
