Anna Shannon
Anna Shannon is a folk singer-songwriter who builds her work around original songs and instrumental pieces. She is based in a classical musical background, with experience on flute, oboe, saxophone and violin, and also uses 12-string and harp-like classical guitar styles alongside an honest vocal delivery. Her music covers a wide range of subjects and combines song with unusual instrumental writing.
Career
In August 2006, Anna Shannon receives BBC Radio Yorkshire’s Songwriter of the Year award, and from that point she develops a steady path in the folk singer-songwriter scene. Over the last fifteen years, she features in line-ups across different styles, but her solo work is the main focus of her recognition.
