Amy Speace

Amy Speace is an American singer-songwriter from Baltimore, Maryland, born in 1968. She is associated with folk and Americana, and is also linked with country, acoustic music and singer-songwriter traditions. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

Her first album, Fable, appears in 2002. In 2006, Songs for Bright Street becomes her breakthrough release, earning her critical attention and an international following. Her third album, The Killer in Me, marks a further creative step, with darker and more personal writing shaped by difficult relationships. Speace describes the songs on that record as emotionally demanding and intense, while also saying that they come together quickly once she begins writing.

Speace is also a member of Decembersongs and Applewood Road.
