Amnesia

Amnesia is a Belgian electronic group active from 1988 to 1993. The project works in new beat, acid house and euro house, and is described as a Belgian electro/techno act.

Formation and members

The group comprises Patrick Cools, Bruno Van Garsse, Benoit Marissal, Stephan Novak and Pascal Pante. Its lineup is associated with a short period of activity in the late 1980s and early 1990s, after which most members move on to solo work.

Style and releases

The band is linked to the new beat and acid house scenes, with electronic music forming the basis of its sound. Its first album, Hysteria, is noted as a release that helps define the later sound of European techno.
