Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham are a Scottish folk duo made up of fiddler Aly Bain and accordionist Phil Cunningham. They begin working together in 1988 on a television series and then arrange a small tour that same year after enjoying performing together.

Their first tour takes in eight small venues across Scotland and proves successful, establishing a long-running musical partnership and friendship that continues over many years. They perform widely and build an international reputation through touring.

The duo releases a series of albums and becomes familiar through regular appearances on BBC Scotland’s New Year Hogmanay Live broadcast, where they have a yearly spot between 1989 and 2019. In 2016, they mark 30 years as musical partners.
