Alvarez Kings

Alvarez Kings are an indie rock group from Sheffield, England. The band forms in 2002 and consists of Sean Parkin, Paul Thompson, Simon Thompson and Richard Walker. Their early success comes in South Yorkshire, where they sell out hometown shows and their first two releases.

The group’s single No Resolve is named Single of the Year by BBC Radio Sheffield, and they also collect local awards including Best Band and Best EP. After establishing themselves in their home county, they play festival slots at Isle of Wight and O2 Wireless, and sell out venues in London including KOKO and the 100 Club.

Alvarez Kings tour internationally as well. They complete three European tours, a three-week tour of Canada, and showcase at SXSW and CMJ. These appearances lead to a 40-date US run on the Vans Warped Tour, covering 26 states and bringing them wider press attention and a dedicated fanbase. Fuse TV also films the band for season 2 of Warped Roadies.

The band later record Fear To Feel, described as drawing on electronica, deep house production, indie hooks, complex time signatures, symphonic instrumentation and harmony, while keeping a strong melodic centre. They also plan a UK support tour with The Boxer Rebellion.
