Alexis
Alexis is a German synthpop singer, born in 1970 and from Germany. The name is also used by several other artists, including a German-Danish act associated with IDM, downbeat, chillout and breakbeat elements, and a eurobeat singer who records under the aliases Alexis, Helena, Jilly, Karina, Rose, Sophie and Victoria.
In the German-Danish project, the music is described through a mix of IDM, downbeat and chillout, with breakbeat influences. The project is presented as a solo act, and its recordings are available as free downloads through an official Myspace page. The name Alexis is also used for other unrelated acts: a chanson singer, Alexis “Rose” Radlin, a Canadian singer-songwriter whose self-titled album is nominated for a Juno, an American band with a self-titled 1977 album, and a synthpop duo from Grand Rapids, Michigan made up of Matthew Forbush and Dan Hurst.
