Alexander Christopher Hale is an Australian jazz bass guitarist and musician who works under his own name and in a number of collaborative projects. He is the main member of August Actually, one half of Geoffrey and the Livingstones, and one half of Hallway Admission.

Before releasing music under his own name, he records as Hannibal Hamster until late 2013, then drops that alias. He also plays keyboards in Japanese Sleepers and appears in the avant-skiffle trio Poirot's Boys, alongside his doppelgänger Alan Poirot.

His solo material includes songs about robots and monsters.
