Alex Party
Alex Party is an Italian dance group formed in 1993 by the brothers Paolo Visnadi and Gianni Visnadi, together with DJ Alex Natale. The group works in Euro house, dance, EDM, electronic and eurodance, and its line-up also includes singer Shanie Campbell.
Early releases and breakthrough
The group first gains attention with Read My Lips (Saturday Night Party), which becomes a major club track and an Ibiza anthem. The single later appears on compilation albums including Now Dance '95 and ID&T Top 500 Dancetracks.
After Shanie Campbell joins the project, Alex Party releases Don't Give Me Your Life, a track in a similar style to its debut single. It reaches number 2 in the CIN charts and tops the Club Record category at Music Week's 1995 Awards. The song also appears on compilations such as Now That's What I Call Music! 30 and Hit Machine 13.
Album and later singles
The group issues a self-titled album, Alex Party. It includes the singles Wrap Me Up and Simple Things, but not the original version of Read My Lips (Saturday Night Party); instead, the album contains the remix Read My Lips (September Party).
U Gotta Be is released as a standalone single in 2000 and becomes the group’s last single.
Shanie Campbell solo releases
Shanie Campbell later releases a remake of Don't Give Me Your Life under the name Shanie, accompanied by a music video. Promo CDs also circulate under her name with the tracks You’re Still The One, Read My Lips and Piano In The Dark, drawn from an album titled Night Fever.
