Alesha Dixon

Alesha Dixon is an English singer, rapper, dancer and author from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. She is also known as an MC, songwriter and television personality. Her work spans pop, R&B, dance, EDM, electropop, hip hop and UK garage.

Mis-Teeq and early solo career

Dixon is a former member of Mis-Teeq, the R&B girl group listed among her associated acts. After the group splits in 2005, she begins a solo career. Her debut solo album, Fired Up, produces the singles released in 2006, although the record later sees limited commercial success and she is dropped by Polydor. The album is eventually issued in Japan in 2008.

Later releases and television work

Her profile rises after she wins the BBC competition Strictly Come Dancing in 2007. She then returns to music with The Alesha Show in 2008. In 2009 she re-releases her debut album with the new single “To Love Again”. Her third solo album, The Entertainer, follows in 2010 and includes the singles “Drummer Boy”, “Radio” and “Every Little Part of Me”, featuring Jay Sean.
