Alan Frew

Alan Frew is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter, best known as the lead singer of Glass Tiger. He also performs as a solo artist and has released three solo albums. Alongside his music work, he appears on television specials, works as an actor and public speaker, and performs regularly in Canada both solo and with Glass Tiger.

Frew is born in 1956 in Coatbridge, Canada. He receives five Canadian Juno Awards, five Canadian Classic Awards, and a Grammy nomination. He also receives the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award for his service to Canadian arts and for charitable work, particularly in support of poverty-stricken children.

His charitable activity is a recurring part of his profile, and he raises money for a range of causes. In 2015, he completes a cover album of 1980s songs called 80290. He suffers a stroke after finishing the album, affecting his right side, but later recovers through therapy, medication and diet, and continues to tour and release music.

In addition to his work with Glass Tiger and as a solo performer, Frew is associated with acoustic material and cover versions, and he continues to be active as a live performer.
