There are at least two artists called Alan Frew. 1. Lead singer of the Canadian band Glass Tiger. 2. Born in Dreghorn Alan grew up in a musical home with both his younger sisters playing piano/violin and his father Ian a singer songwriter himself was to be an early inspiration Enjoying moderate success between 2003-2006 with Scottish bands The Kytes and Southbeach he went on to perform on National T.V and Radio before playing support to a various number of acts including Paolo Nutini, Texas and Lucie Silvas. In the summer of 2007 Alan teamed up with former Speedway frontwoman Jill Jackson to perform songs from her acoustic album and tour extensively throughout the uk playing at the 12bar, The Troubadour and the Mean Fiddler in London as well as Glasgow Barrowlands and ABC. Plus two great support slots with guitar legend Albert Lee and former spice girl Mel C. Jill's band has now evolved into a new full line-up with Carl Taylor drums and Lorna Thomas on bass. Alan spent much of last year writing and recording his own material for a new debut acoustic album Go easy. 4 tracks of which can be streamed here on the reverb nation player. Summer of 2009 kicked off with a T in the park Gig on the T break stage as part of Jill's band then followed a run of solo gigs promoting Go Easy in Inverness, Aberdeen Glasgow, Warwickshire, Weymouth and London sometimes accompanied by his sister Maryann Frew. The album was released in September 20th and recieved positive reviews from The Sunday Herald and Music News Scotland.
