Al Lewis
Al Lewis is a singer-songwriter from Pwllheli, Wales, who lives in London. He also records under the name Al Lewis Band. His work sits in folk, acoustic and indie singer-songwriter territory, with Welsh-language releases as part of his catalogue.
Releases and collaborations
Battles follows the album In the Wake, which is nominated for the inaugural Welsh Music Prize. It also follows the Our Lines Remain EP, which features his live performance at Modern World Studios. On Battles, Lewis works again with his long-time collaborator Sarah Howells, the singer-songwriter from Paper Aeroplanes.
Welsh-language work
As Al Lewis Band, he releases two Welsh-language albums, Sawl Ffordd Allan and Ar Gof a Chadw. These spend several weeks at number one in the Welsh-language album charts.
