Agoria
Agoria is the performing name of Sébastien Devaud, a French electronic record producer, composer and DJ from Valencin, France. Born in 1976, he works in deep house, electro house, electronic, house and tech house, and is also associated with techno, minimal, electro and electronica.
Background and style
He grows up in a musical environment and begins producing his own material in 1997. His sound is influenced by jazz and Detroit techno, and he develops a style described through minimalistic, rough and subversive French electronica. He becomes known for a distinctive groove and a strong focus on the dancefloor.
DJ career and recognition
Agoria starts out with a busy DJ schedule and plays international clubs alongside artists including Jeff Mills, DJ Hell, Kevin Saunderson, Carl Cox, Colin Dale, Joey Beltram, Richie Hawtin and Christian Vogel. His music is supported by DJs such as Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Sven Väth, Luke Slater and DJ Hell. In 2000, he becomes the first DJ signed by FAIR, the French support fund for new acts, and he signs his first publishing contract with Peer Music the same year.

His early releases attract French independent labels including UMF, Tekmics, Zebra 3 and A-Traction. He is also associated with InFiné.
