Afrikan Simba
Afrikan Simba is a Nigerian reggae and dub artist based in London and known as an MC in the UK sound system scene. He works with roots, dub and conscious lyricism, and performs both live and in the studio.
Career and collaborations
He works with sound systems including Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti and Channel One, and records with Jah Warrior, Zion Train and Dub Judah. He also runs his own Ayamba record label, which is based in Jamaica.
Recordings and media work
His debut album is Salvation for the Now Generation. He also appears on Voice of Africa Radio, the first licensed African radio station in the UK, which he manages and broadcasts on 94.3FM in London.
Style and reputation
He is associated with conscious, spiritual and uplifting lyrics, and is described as an award-winning artist.
