6th Borough Project
6th Borough Project is a UK house and disco production group made up of Craig Smith and Graeme Clark, who work together in the studio on deep house, underground house, funk and dusty disco-influenced tracks. Their music appears on labels including L.E.S.S. Productions, Jisco Music, Instruments Of Rapture and Delusions Of Grandeur.
Background
Craig Smith has a long history on the Edinburgh dance music scene. He holds a 10-year residency at The Honeycomb in Edinburgh, where he plays and hosts events, and he makes his DJ debut in 1987 at the city’s Hooch club night. He releases music under his own name and as Harden Soul Project, The Wayfarers, The Soul Renegades and The Shaw Height Assembly, with records on EMI, Virgin, Hush Hush, In Demand, Maxi, Five20East and Soul Heaven. He also remixes artists including Cevin Fisher, Roland Clark, Afro Medusa, Beverly Knight, Soul Providers, Moloko and the Hong Kong Micros.
Graeme Clark and other projects
Graeme Clark moves from the east coast to Glasgow in 2002, where he DJing more often and edits records for his sets. He also performs live with Paul McGlashan in the electronic duo Deportivo Street Team, which plays a fusion of house and techno. He later works with Ali Herron as OOFT Music and with Simon Murray of Deep Space Orchestra as Cronk Family Enterprises. He produces for more than 15 years and tours as a DJ most weekends. His other work appears on DFA, Buzzin' Fly, Domino, Pokerflat, MCDE, Dessous and Silver Network.
Releases
The duo’s debut album, One Night In The Borough, is released on Delusions of Grandeur in 2011.
