47SOUL is a Palestinian Jordanian electronic music group from Amman, Jordan. It forms in 2013 and works in styles described as electro-mijwez, shamstep and choubi, combining Arabic dance rhythms with electronic instrumentation.

Style and sound

The group builds its music around the electric Arabic debka sound, layering it with analog synthesizers, hypnotic guitar lines and verses from multiple singers. Its lyrics use both Arabic and English and focus on celebration and freedom in the struggle for equality, in Bilad Al Sham and beyond.

Membership

The lineup includes Z the People on vocals and synths, El Far3i on derbakeh and MC/vocals, Walaa Sbeit on percussion and MC/vocals, El Jehaz on guitar and vocals, and Rami Nakhle on drums and vocals. The members are rooted across Bilad Al Sham, with connections spanning Amman, the Galilee, the Golan Heights and Ramallah.
