3 Foot Ninja

3 Foot Ninja are a UK group from the North York Moors. The line-up is Jordan Bell on vocals and guitar, Joseph Bell on bass and backing vocals, and Kane Waterfield on drums and backing vocals. They are active from 2009.

Music and activity

The group writes a large number of songs and performs regularly in live settings. Their music is played on BBC York, BBC Tees and BBC Radio One. They play guitar-led indie punk and work as a three-piece band.

They have appeared with a wide range of other acts, including The Subways, Ash, Wilko Johnson featuring Norman Watt-Roy and Dylan Howe, The Fratellis, Cage The Elephant, The Buzzcocks, Pete And The Pirates, British Sea Power, The Airborne Toxic Event, Twisted Wheel, Little Comets, General Fiasco, Shrug and Flashguns. They also play at venues and festivals including Manchester Academy, Newcastle Academy, Leeds Cockpit, Middlesbrough Empire, Birmingham Barfly, Middlesbrough Town Hall, York Fibbers, Darlington Inside Out, the Forum in Darlington, the Arc in Stockton, the Studio in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough Bandstand, Stereo in York, Georgian Theatre in Stockton, The Lamp in Hull, Stockton Riverside Festival, Middlesbrough Intro Festival, Scarborough Beached Festival and Musicport Festival.

Recordings

They record material at Trinity Heights Studio in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Their recordings are engineered and mixed by Fred Purser and mastered by Jon Astley, with CDs manufactured at Sound Performance. The group has 11 new tracks associated with this recording session.

Reception

A live review describes them as performing “guitar-fuelled indie punk” and notes their strong stage presence at a show in the North York Moors.
