2nd Gen

2nd Gen

2nd Gen is the music project of Wajid Yaseen, an artist from Manchester, United Kingdom. The project works across industrial, noise, industrial hip-hop, power noise, and hip-hop, combining hard, propulsive beats with abrasive noise and forceful drum patterns.

Style and approach

Yaseen describes the project as operating without fixed rules, and his work rejects a separation between life and music. The sound of 2nd Gen brings together hip-hop rhythms, cutting noise, and explosive percussion, with an emphasis on tension, intensity, and sonic experimentation. He is associated with an approach that resists genre boundaries and favours unorthodox methods in the studio.
