BOARDMASTERS 2026 WELCOMES 158,000 TO THE CORNISH COAST

Boardmasters 2026 has officially concluded after welcoming a cumulative 158,000 attendees across five days of live music, world-class surfing and coastal culture at Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach in Newquay.

For festivalgoers already looking ahead, the big update is that Boardmasters will return to Cornwall from 4–8 August 2027. Presale registration is now open, giving fans the chance to get ahead of the next ticket release before the 2027 line-up is announced.

BOARDMASTERS 2026 HEADLINERS

Fatboy Slim, Lily Allen and Kasabian topped the Boardmasters 2026 bill, leading a packed weekend of music across the festival's stages.

Fatboy Slim transformed the Main Stage at Watergate Bay into a huge open-air club on Friday, while Lily Allen took Saturday's headline slot, performing her West End Girl album in full.

Kasabian brought the Main Stage programme to a close on Sunday after a weekend that also featured The Kooks, Loyle Carner, Nia Archives, Rudimental, REN, Tinie Tempah, Example and Dizzee Rascal.

Elsewhere, Pendulum (Live), Goldie (Live), The Darkness and Chloe Qisha appeared at Mordros, while Ewan McVicar, Hamdi, Hannah Wants and Girls Don't Sync were among the names playing Unleashed.

BOARDMASTERS SURFING AT FISTRAL BEACH

Music was only part of the Boardmasters weekend, with the festival's surfing programme once again taking over Fistral Beach.

The Boardmasters Open moved up to World Surf League QS 4,000 status for 2026, attracting a stronger international field.

France's Sam Piter won the Men's Shortboard title, while Spain's Janire Gonzalez Etxabarri claimed the Women's Shortboard competition.

Louis Marchiset secured his first Longboard Qualifying Series title, while Alice Lemoigne won her seventh Boardmasters title.

WHAT ELSE HAPPENED AT BOARDMASTERS 2026?

Boardmasters continued to combine its music and surf programme with activity focused on Cornwall and the coastline.

The festival launched an ocean protection partnership with Oceana UK centred around The View stage, while Falmouth University art students created protest artwork calling for an end to bottom-trawling in UK Marine Protected Areas.

The sensory calm space also returned for 2026, providing a lower-stimulation area with low lighting, ear plugs and weighted blankets for neurodiverse guests and anyone needing time away from the busiest parts of the festival.

Boardmasters returns to Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach in Newquay from Wednesday 4 August to Sunday 8 August 2027.
