Bobby Gillespie Speaks Out
“Chris Sullivan is an old friend who I respect very much and when he told me what he was planning to do with the people being massacred in Gaza by the Israeli Occupation Forces I said I would love to be involved. I believe it’s the human rights issue of our time.”
“I want to play Artists for Gaza because it’s my duty as a human being to do whatever I possibly can. Innocent people are being slaughtered and our government don’t care.”
About Artists for Gaza
Artists for Gaza was created by visual artist, writer, DJ and legendary club promoter Chris Sullivan, alongside his son Finbar Sullivan and healthcare professional Maria Larrain.
Chris Sullivan is best known for founding the band Blue Rondo a la Turk and creating London’s iconic Wag Club, a major centre of 1980s creative culture frequented by names including David Bowie, Leigh Bowery, Neneh Cherry and John Galliano.
The Wag Club also helped introduce live hip-hop to UK audiences, hosting performances from De La Soul, Eric B & Rakim, Queen Latifah and Grandmaster Flash.
In Memory of Finbar Sullivan
This year’s Artists for Gaza event will be held in memory of Finbar Sullivan, son of Chris Sullivan and Leah Seresin, who tragically died in London on 7 April 2026.
Finbar was deeply affected by the suffering of children in Gaza and played a major role in helping establish Artists for Gaza from the very beginning.
