About Wirral Blues-Rock Festival
Wirral Blues-Rock Festival begins as Wirral Blues Club’s first blues-rock festival. The 2026 edition runs 6-7 November, with Friday at Thornton Hough Village Club and Saturday at The Northern Powerhouse in Birkenhead. It is a compact setup.
The format splits the opening edition across two venues rather than a single outdoor site. Saturday at The Northern Powerhouse is a full day of live blues-rock, with wristband access for drop-in and drop-out attendance.
Lineup and Programme
Announced acts include The Rigmarollers alongside Burning Rope, plus The Terraplanes Blues Band. The bill stays close to blues-rock and electric blues, with roots music in the same lane and folk and world bookings also present.
Music runs across daytime and evening sets. The Saturday wristband format means the Birkenhead day can be taken in and out rather than as one fixed seated session.
Who Is It For?
This is an 18-and-over ticketed event, aimed at adult blues and roots listeners rather than a family crowd. The scale points to a grassroots local and regional audience, with The Northern Powerhouse capped at 200.
Friday is mostly seated. Saturday is partially seated, so the setup suits a club-room blues crowd more than a standing arena audience.
The Venue and Site
The first night uses Thornton Hough Village Club, Thornton Common Road, Thornton Hough. The Saturday venue is The Northern Powerhouse, 82-90 Taylor Street, Birkenhead.
Thornton Hough Village Club has a wheelchair-accessible entrance. The Northern Powerhouse has a bar and sound system, with partial seating inside the 200-capacity room.
