About Le Beat Bespoke

Le Beat Bespoke began in London in 2005, before moving to 229 The Venue on Great Portland Street for its third edition in 2007. The 2027 edition runs 26-28 March in the West End as a music weekender rooted in freakbeat and garage, with psych, Northern soul, R&B, ska, boogaloo, jazz and Latin in the mix. It reached its 17th edition in 2026.

The milestones came early. The Remains played their first UK show at Le Beat Bespoke 2 in 2006. The Buzzcocks appeared in 2007, the year the festival moved to 229 The Venue. In 2008, The Sonics came to London for their first performance outside the USA.

Who Is It For?

The crowd is mod and 60s-culture fans, dancers, record collectors and clubbers drawn to freakbeat and garage, plus psych and related soul/R&B rooms. Daytime programming brings in a family-friendly strand, including a free session and an all-ages Sunday window until 21:00.

Most live shows are 18+. Club nights are strictly 18+, while some shows allow younger audiences.

The Venue and Site

Great Portland Street is the anchor. Le Beat Bespoke moved to 229 The Venue in 2007, and the current West End address is The Venue / Nambucca, W1W 5PN. At 229, Venue 1 holds 620 standing and Venue 2 holds 140 standing.

The site setup includes venue bars, kitchen service, food/BBQ and market stalls. Strongrooms adds an outdoor terrace. 229 has accessible toilets and lift access, and a cloakroom is usually available in Venue 1.

Travel to Le Beat Bespoke

Great Portland Street puts the site on a central London tube run, with Regent’s Park and Warren Street close by.

• Great Portland Street: about 300 ft from 229, less than one minute on foot.
• Regent’s Park: about 0.1 miles from the venue.
• Warren Street: about 0.4 miles away, around an eight-minute walk.
• Road access: Great Portland Street, Euston Road, Park Crescent, Outer Circle, Greenwell Street and Park Crescent Mews.
• Parking: no customer parking at the venue. Nearby side streets may have free parking after 18:30, with Park Crescent and Outer Circle recommended. Blue Badge bays are on Park Crescent and Greenwell Street, about 100m away.
