About Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour
Union Chapel in London takes the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour 2027 as an arts screening tour built around adventure, mountaineering, high-adrenaline sports, mountain culture and travel. The format is short-form. The 2027 UK tour lists London screenings at Union Chapel on 3, 5, 9 and 11 March for the Red programme, and 4, 8, 10 and 12 March for the Blue programme.
The wider Banff timeline goes back to 31 October 1976, when the first Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival was held. A Best of the Festival Film Tour followed in 1981, with an outreach programme beginning in 1986.
Who Is It For?
Outdoor-film audiences are the core here: mountain culture, mountaineering and high-adrenaline sport sit in the brief. It is a 12+ event. Union Chapel lists under-18s as requiring an adult.
The Venue and Site
Union Chapel, N1 2XD, is the anchor: a 900-capacity, 100% seated auditorium in Islington. The venue has wheelchair spaces and companion tickets. There is priority access for those less able to stand or queue, reserved seating for access customers, two wheelchair ramps and a ground-level rear entrance.
The site also has a cloakroom at £2 per item, a bar and a kiosk with card payment only. An accessible toilet is on the ground floor, and an induction loop is available on request.
