Zoya

Zoya is a Kurdish singer. The artist is presented as a performer working in Kurdish folk, with a repertoire that draws on Kurdish language and tradition. The name is also used for several other artists, including a Persian singer, two Russian singers, and a virtual singer connected with Auxuman.

Kurdish singer

In the Kurdish profile, Zoya describes an early interest in singing at school and says teachers encouraged that interest. Family members also help with musical development, including brothers named Filad and Samir, who give support and praise for the voice. Zoya is selected to take part in a song-singing activity in sixth grade, and the first teacher mentioned as giving direct artistic encouragement is Edîbê Xan. Lazgîn, identified as an artist linked with the song “Serhed,” helps bring one of the songs to a wider audience and is described as breaking social boundaries through that work.

Zoya also says that one song, associated with the city of Şemzînan, becomes an important personal experience and that a later major performance is connected to Lazgîn. The singer explains that Lazgîn helps challenge social and family expectations. One performance is carried out with the group of Mustafa Xalid and Hisên Şakir at a festival in Amed. That performance leads to the idea of working on a first album.

Recordings and collaborators

The first album is assembled with support from Eyaz, who begins collecting songs for the project. The album includes three songs supported by Eyaz: “Cavê Te,” “Ehmedê Xanê,” and “Az nema Zanim.” Another song, “Min Ji Te Hezker,” is contributed by teacher Mihemed Ezîz Şaker. Additional songs and poems are added with support from Ksin Dî, Hisên Şakir, Elî Şex, Bavê Ciwan and Sefqan. The cassette is prepared in a period described as six months.

Virtual singer

Another Zoya is a virtual singer and a character connected with Auxuman. In that form, Zoya is part of Auxuman and is also used as an AI player in a computer game by Bazookai.
