Zongamin

Zongamin is the recording name of Susumi Makai, a Japanese electronic producer and one-man band. Born in rural Japan, he moves to the United Kingdom at the age of 11 and is based there from then on.

Under the Zongamin name, Makai releases left-field dance music. Before his first album, he issues a couple of 12-inch records on Flesh and XL. His self-titled debut album appears on XL in early 2003 and includes a mix of tracks that have already circulated on vinyl and a handful of new productions.

He also records a series of remixes for other artists, including Playgroup, Grafiti and Seelenluft. Playgroup includes his track “Tunnel Music” on a DJ Kicks mix.
