Zlatan is a Nigerian afrobeat and rap artist, songwriter and dancer from Nigeria. Born Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, he is also known as Zlatan Ibile and is associated with the catchphrase “Kapaichumarimarichopaco”. He is born in 1994.
Career
Zlatan begins his music career shortly after finishing high school in 2011. He wins the Airtel One Mic talent show in Abeokuta, Ogun State, in 2014, and later gains wider attention in the Nigerian music scene in 2017 with “My Body”, a single featuring Olamide. The song spreads widely after a video of Davido dancing to it appears online, and it also marks the start of Zlatan’s friendship with Davido.
He builds on that momentum in 2018 with an appearance on “Able God” by Chinko Ekun, which also features Lil Kesh. Later that year he releases “Zanku”, a track that introduces a dance routine of the same name. “Zanku” stands for “Zlatan Abeg No Kill Us”. He also closes 2018 with “Osanle”, featuring Davido.
In 2019, Zlatan releases “Glory” and appears on “Killin Dem” alongside Burna Boy. He also features on “Flenjo” by Ceeza Milli and appears on Naira Marley’s “Am I a Yahoo Boy”. He signs an endorsement deal with Coca-Cola in July 2019.
Background
Zlatan is born and raised in Lagos and hails from Ekiti State. He graduates from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic with a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration.
