Zendad

Zendad is a Coventry-based space rock group formed by ambient musician Steve Kavanagh. The project begins in 2005 as a solo outlet for Kavanagh’s original space rock and ambient compositions, and it develops into a live act in 2009 after positive attention for the album Resistance Is Futile.

Style and influences

The group’s music sits within space rock and is also associated with psychedelic and progressive rock. Its stated influences include Hawkwind, Ozric Tentacles and Gong.

Live work and collaborators

Zendad appears live after its initial studio phase and supports Group X, featuring former Hawkwind member Alan Davey, and Alan Davey’s Eclectic Devils at the 2010 Onboard The Craft Festival in Derbyshire. It also plays a number of shows with Hawklords guitarist Jerry Richards as special guest.
