Zeitgeist Zero

Zeitgeist Zero are a UK alternative group active since 2003. Their sound combines synthesizers with guitars, melodic piano and female vocals, and they are often compared with Blondie and Garbage. Their music is described as edgy and progressive, with rock and roll influence, and their songs draw on personal experience, using catchy hooks and sing-along melodies.

Career

The band emerges on the alternative music scene in early 2003 and quickly builds a live following through energetic shows. Within months, they appear on several compilation albums. Their self-titled album follows in 2005 and brings them wider attention, including a performance at Beyond The Veil in Leeds.

They perform at festivals in the UK and Europe, including Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig and Whitby Gothic Weekend. Their second album, Dead To The World, appears in 2009. It is mixed by John Fryer, who works with HIM and Nine Inch Nails, and mastered by John Dent, who works with Goldfrapp. The album uses a 1940s and 1950s visual style and is described as darker and more guitar-led than their debut.

Later activity

Zeitgeist Zero also appear on the soundtrack to Andrey Iskanov’s Russian horror film Ingression and are included in Music To Die For, a music anthology by Mick Mercer. By this point, they have more than 30 magazine appearances and nearly 100 radio appearances, and Dead To The World is voted favourite album by the reviewing panel at Dark Spy Magazine.
