Zegema Beach are a UK group based in Southsea on the south coast of England. They combine dub, pop and rock with other styles to create a reggae-influenced crossover sound.

Style and lineup

Their music is built around rock-steady drums, rolling bass and guitar that moves between shimmering and heavier passages. Harmonies from Roxy Johns and Weaver are a central part of the group’s sound. Weaver is described as the band’s own “Reggae Jarvis Cocker”.

Activity and releases

In their early period, the group records a debut album called The Wrong Island. They also undertake a UK headline tour and appear on the UK festival circuit.

Live appearances and collaborators

Zegema Beach play alongside Easy Star All Stars, Dreadzone and Cas Haley. They also share a stage with DJ Luck & MC Neat.
