Zardonic
Zardonic is the project and stage name of Federico Augusto Ágreda Álvarez, a Venezuelan DJ, composer, mixer and multi-instrumentalist from Barquisimeto, Venezuela, born in 1985. The act combines drum and bass with metal and is associated with darkstep, darkside and techstep.
Style and concept
Zardonic functions as both an artist identity and a broader concept built around the meeting point of heavy metal and hard electronic music. The project is described through a mask-based persona and an approach that blends aggression, atmosphere and immersion. Its sound draws on extreme-metal influence, electronic intensity and breakbeat-driven structure, with vocals, guitars, hardcore and glitch also part of the mix. Dubstep is not part of the core recipe.
Career and releases
Ágreda’s work appears on releases associated with DJ Dieselboy’s SubHuman: Human Imprint and Skrillex’s OWSLA label. His remixes include work for The Berzerker, Gorgoroth and Nine Inch Nails. The project’s eOne Music debut presents this metal-electronic blend more fully, extending Zardonic’s established sound across different tempos and club contexts.
Performance profile
Zardonic performs both in club settings and at large festivals, with appearances in Russia, South America, Europe and Japan. The project is presented as able to work as both an EDM festival act and a heavy live experience, with a sound that is intended to function in clubs and also take on a different character at home.
Context and influences
Among the influences named around the project are Ministry, Atari Teenage Riot and Skrillex, alongside references to the broader crossover between EDM and heavy metal. Zardonic is framed as part of a movement in which electronic music and extreme metal overlap without remaining confined to one audience or scene.
