Zach Thompson
Zach Thompson is a folk singer from West Yorkshire, rooted in the bardic and ballad traditions of the British and Irish isles. He builds his work from a wide range of literary and musical influences, including English Modernism, the poetry of the French symbolists, Appalachian folk broadsides and the Beat Generation.
He develops his reputation in venues in South-East London, where he plays residencies and local sets before his recorded work is released. His voice is described as central to his music, and his songwriting is marked by a careful, detailed approach.
Debut release
His debut EP, Algebra Parable, is recorded live over two days at Fish Factory studios in London with a nine-piece band. The recording reflects his interest in live sound and features arrangements shaped by a full ensemble.
