Yunioshi are a UK group active from 2007, associated with electro rock and pop and with roots in Nottingham and London. They are described as a Nottingham electro breakbeat pop four-piece that combines electronic music with indie rock and old funk breakbeat samples.

Line-up

The group consists of Rob Yunioshi on vocals and guitar, Anna Yunioshi Suzuki on vocals and keyboards, James Yunioshi san on bass, and Hakushi Yunioshi san on drums and samples.

Style and influences

Their sound draws on new wave electronica, New Orleans funk, Beach Boys-style melodies and Serge Gainsbourg-style meanderings. They combine these influences with a sharp-edged rock-based approach, moving between subtle ballads and angular electro rock.
