Yu Su

Yu Su is a Chinese-Canadian composer, DJ, sound artist and EDM producer from Kaifeng, Canada, who lives in Vancouver. She works in ambient, dub, electronic, experimental, krautrock and pop, and her music also draws on downtempo, house and ambient dub.

Music career

Yu Su starts releasing music in 2014. After a number of EPs, she releases her debut album Yellow River Blue in 2021. Her productions appear on People’s Potential Unlimited, Wichelroede, RVNG Intl. and Arcane, and Second Circle/Music From Memory. She is a proficient instrumentalist, and her sound combines natural and synthetic textures with dub-influenced, downtempo and jazz-leaning elements.

DJ work and collaborations

As a DJ, Yu Su builds set narratives from a wide range of influences and personal reflections. She is one half of the duo You're Me with Scott Johnson Gailey, and the duo YUF-O is also associated with her.
