Ysgol Glanaethwy

Ysgol Glanaethwy is a choir from Wales, based at a performing arts school in Bangor, Gwynedd. The school opens in 1990 and operates outside normal school hours.

It becomes known more widely when its choir for older pupils takes part in BBC One’s Last Choir Standing in 2008. The group goes through auditions, callbacks and knockout rounds, reaches the sing-off once, and is then chosen by the judges to continue. It finishes second in the final phone-in vote.

The school offers acting lessons and choir practice for younger children, while older pupils take part in choir practice only.
