Youth of Today are a hardcore punk and punk group from Danbury, United States. They form in 1985 and are closely associated with the mid-1980s youth crew scene and Connecticut straight edge hardcore punk.

Career

The band’s original line-up features Ray Cappo on vocals, John Porcelly on guitar, Graham Philips on bass and Darren Pesce on drums. The membership changes several times over the band’s active years and includes Craig Setari on bass, Tom Carroll on drums, Drew Thomas on drums, Mike Judge on drums and Walter Schreifels on bass. Cappo remains the group’s vocalist throughout.

Youth of Today release two studio albums and two 7-inch EPs before splitting in 1990. They later reform several times for reunion shows.

Associated acts

Several members go on to other projects within hardcore and related punk scenes. Drew Thomas plays drums in Crippled Youth, later known as Bold. Mike Judge later forms Judge with Porcelly. Ray Cappo goes on to form Shelter with Porcelly and later Better Than A Thousand.
