Younha

Younha is the stage name of Go Youn-ha, a South Korean singer-songwriter and record producer from Seoul. She is born in 1988 and begins her career in 2004 with her first single, “ゆびきり” (Yubikiri). She debuts at the age of sixteen and works in both Korean and Japanese pop music.

Career in Japan and South Korea

Younha releases eight singles and two albums in Japan, where she gains the nickname “Oricon comet” for her chart success. Several of her songs appear in anime and drama productions. She makes her South Korean debut in 2006 and is regarded there as one of the country’s leading singer-songwriters. She is associated with C9 Entertainment.

Name and identity

Her Korean name is 고윤하, with the Hanja form 高潤荷, and she is also known in Japanese as ユンナ. The name Younha refers to this solo artist, while other performers use the same spelling in romanised form.
