Young Turks

Young Turks are an American group from Columbus, United States, active since 1990. They work in indie rock and punk rock, and are associated with hardcore, alternative, punk and melodic styles.

Formation and lineup

The group is made up of Sam Brown, Eric Davidson, Bill Randt, Matt Reber and Jim Weber. Their project begins as a side project to several then-active bands and grows out of a circle of acquaintances who become close friends.

Recordings

Their early releases include a 7-inch called Halfhearted, issued on Arctic Circle Pit Records, and a debut full-length album titled Where I Lie, released on Animal Style Records. Their work is described as drawing on adolescent punk roots while also showing a contemporary edge.
